According to techdirt an English village installed “ignore your sat nav” signs, after truck drivers -blindly following their units- found themselves stuck in a 2m-wide road.

Sign on English Village: Do not follow SAT NAV

Some commendators place the blame entirely on the drivers, but it is not so simple: a voice instructs you to turn left, then to the right, then KABOOM!! When using the aural spectrum, there is no time for the user to think. The driver is in reactive mode and is not motivated to think about the route. The smarter the artefact seems (read anthropomorphic) the more humans will mindlessly rely on it.

Lesson learned: be wary of voice interfaces!
