Joel on Software describes a new elevator UI which efficiently clusters people going to nearby floors with a small catch: you have to follow the predetermined interaction path -i.e.

1. SELECT floor
2. GOTO indicated elevator
3. WAIT elevator
4. ENTER elevator
5. EXIT elevator
6. GOTO 1

Now, I know this will not work for Greeks
